Job Description

Groundskeeper

12 month, full-time (7:00-3:30) with Benefits

  1. Performs ground maintenance and landscaping functions such as fencing, asphalt and concrete repair, grass mowing, debris cleanup and removal, snow removal, tree removal, pruning, etc.
  2. Maintains the grounds, grass, shrubbery, trees, walkways, steps and retaining walls of all school properties.
  3. Operates mowers, trucks, edgers, trailers and other hand tools and hand powered equipment while landscaping.
  4. Marks fields and sites for athletic events.
  5. Maintains and repairs equipment and vehicles used.  Observes and reports needed repair of equipment, furnishings, fixtures, building and site and performs minor maintenance.
  6. Carries out any other assigned duties and/or responsibilities by the Superintendent of Schools and the Board of Education.

Job Qualifications
  1. General knowledge of various grounds maintenance and landscaping functions.
  2. Working knowledge of the operation and maintenance of grounds keeping equipment.
  3. General knowledge of safety precautions applicable to grounds maintenance.
  4. Be very neat and thorough.
  5. Must be willing to follow oral and written instructions.
  6. Good moral character, personal cleanliness, courteous, neat, cooperative attitude, dependable and loyal, completely trustworthy and honest.
