Part-time Kindergarten Classroom Aide

This is a part-time position (approximately 3 hours/day) in the Elementary School starting ASAP.

  • Assists with classroom activities and regular school routines as directed by the teacher.
  • Guides independent study, enrichment work, and remedial work set up and assigned by the teacher.
  • Works with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning of material or skills initially introduced by the teacher.
  • Supports student(s) with individual needs as identified by the teaching team (i.e. Feeding, toileting, self-care, social emotional development, academic).
  • Corrects papers or workbooks and keeps records as assigned by the teacher.
  • Prepares bulletin boards and displays as requested by the teacher.
  • Serves as the chief source of information and help to any substitute teacher assigned in the absence of the regular teacher.
  • Maintains the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of fully licensed teachers
  • Participates in in-service training programs as assigned.
  • Supervises lunch or play periods as scheduled.
  • Carries out any other assigned duties and/or responsibilities, which may be deemed appropriate by the Superintendent of Schools and the Board of Education

Part-time Student Support Teacher Assistant

This is a part-time, 10-month probationary position in the Elementary School, Monday - Friday, for approximately 3 hours a day.

Responsibilities:

  1. Working with individual pupils or groups of pupils on special instructional projects as defined by classroom teachers.

  2. Providing the teacher with information about pupils, which will assist the teacher in the development of appropriate learning experiences.

  3. Assisting pupils in the use of available instructional resources, and assisting in the development of instructional materials.

  4. Participating in in-service training programs as assigned.

  5. Maintaining the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of fully certified teachers.

  6. Assisting in related instructional work and evaluation as required by teachers.

  7. Planning lesson and units in conjunction with the classroom teachers.

  8. Assist with educational support and classroom transitions of identified special education students.

  9. Offer behavioral support to identified students when disruptions occur.

  10. Assist monitoring the identified students in the cafeteria on a regular/as needed basis.

  11. Carrying out any other assigned duties deemed appropriate by the Administration and the Board of Education.

Starting at $23,000/yr (prorated)
Math Teacher Assistant

This is a full-time, 10-month probationary position in the Elementary School from 8:00am - 3:00pm, Monday - Friday.

Responsibilities:

  1. Working with individual pupils or groups of pupils on special instructional projects as defined by classroom teachers.

  2. Providing the teacher with information about pupils, which will assist the teacher in the development of appropriate learning experiences.

  3. Assisting pupils in the use of available instructional resources, and assisting in the development of instructional materials.

  4. Participating in in-service training programs as assigned.

  5. Maintaining the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of fully certified teachers.

  6. Assisting in related instructional work and evaluation as required by teachers.
