Anticipated MS/HS Librarian/Library Collection Oversight

This is a full-time, 10-month probationary position shared between the High & Middle Schools. 

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop 21st-century PreK–12 library services
  2. Select and maintain a diverse and current collection of library materials in accordance with Board of Education policy and instructional goals.
  3. Collaborate and work closely with classroom teachers, specialists, and administrators.
  4. Design and implement lessons and units of instruction
  5. Encourage library assistants to work independently and contribute to the success of the media center.
  6. Provide leadership in the integration of information literacy and digital citizenship across the curriculum.
  7. Manage the library media center, including budgeting, inventory, circulation systems, and maintenance of resources.
  8. Promote a culture of reading and lifelong learning through reading initiatives, author visits, book clubs, and other literacy-related programs.
  9. Provide professional development and instructional support to staff in the use of educational technology and digital resources.
  10. Evaluate and curate digital tools, databases, and online resources to support teaching and learning.
  11. Ensure equitable access to information and resources for all students, including those with diverse learning needs.
  12. Maintain awareness of current trends and best practices in school librarianship and educational technology.
  13. Foster community and family engagement through library programs and outreach efforts.
